And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."

Mark 16:15

World Missions- Book of Hope
Lake Forest Community Church supports World Missions, we contribute to Affect Destiny Founded by Bob Hoskins and Directed by Son Rob Hoskins.
History of Book of Hope:
Their lives crushed and hopes dashed after years of civil war, the children of El Salvador needed spiritual help. In 1987, missionary and evangelist Bob Hoskins was asked by the Minister of Education in El Salvador to provide bibles to the country's 986,000 school children.
Hoskins was up to the challenge, but instead of bibles, he delivered what is now called the Book of Hope, with tremendous results. The country was caught in a wave of church revivals and students and their families committing their lives to Christ. It would be the beginning of an international venture to get the Word of God into the hands of children and youth around the world.

The Book of Hope publication combines the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to tell the life story of Jesus Christ - the most important part of the scriptures. The book reads in chronological order and features 100 study questions that direct the reader back into the Word. There is also a clear plan of salvation at the end of the book so children know how to accept Christ as their personal Savior.

Affect Destiny Teams are an effective and relevant approach to short-term
mission teams as groups of volunteers distribute God's Word to children
all over the world in the form of the Book of Hope.
To date, over 230 million Books of Hope have been distributed worldwide The book has been translated into more than 65 distinct languages and dialects.
COUNTRIES:

Spot Light on Russia:
Over 72 million copies of the Book of Hope have been distributed in the former Soviet Union.
Background: The defeat of the Russian Empire in World War I led to the seizure of power by the communists and the formation of the USSR. The brutal rule of Josef Stalin (1924-53) strengthened Russian dominance of the Soviet Union at a cost of tens of millions of lives. General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev (1985-91) introduced glasnost (openness) and perestroika (restructuring) in an attempt to modernize communism, but his initiatives inadvertently released forces that by December 1991 splintered the USSR into 15 independent republics. Since then, Russia has struggled in its efforts to build a democratic political system and market economy.
