In 1995, God spoke
to Pastor Greg and Wendi Simas about moving back to the Tri-City
area to plant a church that would minister hope, healing and restoration
to broken lives in society with the life-giving power of God.
After receiving blessing and confirmation
from the Northern California District of the Assemblies of God
and local pastors, Greg and Wendi began to ask several couples
to begin praying into what would soon be the birth of Harvest
House Church. It was during these prayer meetings that God released
to the core group a hunger and thirst for the Spirit and a heartbeat
for the street that today is still the primary mission and mandate
of Harvest House.
On March 17, 1996 Harvest House Church held
it's first Sunday celebration service at Milani Elementary School
auditorium with over 150 in attendance. The following three years,
Harvest House gracefully experienced the growing pains of church
planting by relocating twice while still maintaining and establishing
effective and relevant ministries to the Tri-City community such
as bus ministry, feeding programs and recovery groups.
Today, God has provided Harvest House Church
a permanent home on 5.5 acres in South Fremont's Irvington District
where plans are now being made to remodel and build a debt-free,
state of the art facility that will allow the church to minister
and meet the needs of our surrounding community with more effectiveness.
Our history is a result of His faithfulness
and the faithfulness of God’s people. Our future also rests
assured on His faithfulness and the fruitfulness of God’s
people as we continue to make and shape history in the Greater
Bay Area!
